Appointed Sur Municipal staff carry out Diyarbakır's public services

The municipal services that were hindered by southeastern Diyarbakır Municipality have been carried out by the province's Sur Municipality.

The citizens of Diyarbakır were victimized as public services were slowed down by the Diyarbakır Municipality following the arrest of co-mayors Gülten Kışanak and Fırat Anlı due to their terror links. Sur is one of the districts whose mayor was replaced by state administrators in early September through a governmental decree for allegedly aiding and abetting terrorists. One of the staff appointed, Bilal Özkan, the vice-governor of the city, said they are carrying out cleaning services with 18 trucks and four earth movers and collecting garbage all around Diyarbakır. "We will work 24 hours if need be to provide a hygienic environment to our citizens," Özkan said.
