Seven captured for planning attacks on district administrators

As part of a terror investigation carried out by the Mardin Prosecutor's Office, seven PKK terrorists were arrested for allegedly planning attacks against government-appointed administrators in the Artuklu, Dargeçit, Mazıdağı, Midyat, Nusaybin, Ömerli and Savur districts of the southeastern Mardin province.
The authorities also detained 32 people with suspected links to the plans. However, except for the seven, they were released after the investigation was concluded.Meanwhile, Turkish warplanes destroyed 12 PKK terrorist targets in northern Iraq, a military source said Tuesday.
Arrest warrants for PKK leadersArrests warrants were issued for PKK leaders Murat Karayılan and Duran Kalkan for orchestrating the assassination of the District Governor of Derik, Muhammed Fatih Safitürk.
Safitürk, the governor of Mardin's Derik district, was injured on Nov. 10 when PKK terrorists remotely detonated a bomb placed in his office. He later died of his wounds.
