The Danish government continues to provide unemployment benefits and disability pension to those who joined Daesh since 2012, Denmark Minister of Labor Troels Lund Poulsen confirmed. He has affirmed that 29 out of 145 Danish people that joined the terrorist organization are still receiving unemployment from the government. "The fact that funds, which were meant to be used in the state welfare implementations of Denmark, are actually being used to undermine the democracy in Syria or other states is a huge scandal," said Poulsen. It is estimated that the total amount in pensions that has been paid has reached approximately 85,000 euros ($89,810). After confirmation of the news, Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen announced that they are working on new legislation that will address the legal gaps concerning the issue.
