The fire erupted in the middle of the night two evenings ago and started on the balcony of the kitchen of a home where the Turkish Özgan family resides in Bremen's Sebaldsbrück neighborhood. The fire escalated instantly and the home owners were assisted by their neighbors in trying to extinguish the flames before they engulfed the whole building. Police arrived to the scene and proceeded to seal off the home under the pretence it may be dangerous to enter. The cause of the fire is still unknown and the Özgan family, which has been forced to seek shelter with close friends and relatives, are awaiting the results of the police report to be released once the investigation is complete.
