ISTANBUL — 9th International Istanbul Tulip Festival officially gets underway on April 6th. 20 million tulips with more than 211 different species will add more color to historical city. The festival considered as the beginning of spring event will continue till end of the April.
International Istanbul Tulip Festival which is organised by Istanbul Municipality costed 5 mln lira. For "Tulip Season" more than 20 million tulip bulbs were planted in a different parts of city parks, gardens and squares.
During the festival tulip sculpture exhibition can be visited. Visitors can also apply for photo competition to choose the most beautiful 50 tulips of festival.
