The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) released a written statement on Monday, sharing the details of the extensive operations in southeast Turkey. According to the statement, 170 terrorists in the districts of Cizre and Silopi in Şırnak province as well as 41 terrorists in the Sur district of Diyarbakır province have been killed as of Dec. 27 since operations began.
The statement also said that 17 handmade explosives were seized and three barricades were destroyed in Silopi. In Sur, two handmade explosives were seized and four barricades were destroyed.
Commenting on the estimated timeline on an end to operations, Interior Minister Efkan Ala said in a televised interview that "Curfews are ongoing in four districts. The fight against terror will continue until terror is over. There shall not be any justification for terror. Terror is an inhumane act."
