Turkey’s 2011 56th Eurovision Song Contest entrants Yüksek Sadakat (High Fidelity) held a press conference yesterday in Istanbul prior to their May 10th, 12th and 14th stint in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Group member Uğur Onatkut was unable to attend, due to an illness; however the groups remaining members, Kutlu Özmakinacı, Kenan Vural, Serkan Özgen and Alpay Şalt were all present to answer questions from the press. The founder and base guitarist for the group, Özmakinacı states, "We received the proposal they day before it was scheduled to be released and accepted immediately, feeling it was our binding duty. It was a surprise for us as well."
ALBUM ON HOLD
Explaining that they have decided to postpone the release of their upcoming album for the Eurovision Song Contest, Özmankinacı also shared the news that they would be performing a song in English for the competition. According to Özmakinacı, "In recent years, we have noticed that competitors songs are in English and how that can positively affect their standings. So, we are also considering competing with a song in English. We have no issues with Turkish, we have also discussed this with Manga and we are going to prepare a lively song that includes Turkish motifs."
Vocalist Kenan Vural drew attention to the fact that because the competition is going to be held in Germany, that may mean they will have an advantage in terms of the audience support. Guitarist Serkan Özgen states, "We have to send in three songs. In the next 10-15 days, we will complete them and send them off. TRT will make a choice in February. We will then rerecord the song they have selected. In March, we will promote the song by releasing it as a single and filming a music video. Then in April, we begin promoting the song in other countries."
