The exhibition "İlk Vapurdan Marmaray'a: Seyrü Sefer Istanbul" (From First Ferry to Marmaray: Transportation in Istanbul) opened under Kültür A.Ş., the cultural enterprise of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality at the Taksim Metro Art Gallery. Taken from the special archives of Kültür A.Ş. and the General Directorate of Istanbul Electric Tram and Tunnel Company (IETT), the exhibition displays 150 photos of ferries, buses, trams and trains dating from the 1820s to the 2000s. Visitors can see the first tram put into service in 1958. Aside from photos of transportation vehicles, the exhibition presents tickets, information panels and other related accessories. Tickets for horse-drawn trams, which have a 100-year history, public ferry tickets, bus tickets depicting highlighted locations, tokens for nostalgic tunnels and 40-year-old tolls for the Bosporus Bridge are on display. The exhibition also presents photos of Istanbul's first buses. Visitors can clearly understand changes in transportation in the last two centuries and revive their memories. The photos of the first domestic trolleybus "Tosun," first ferry "Buğu" and Istanbul's classic Leylands as well as nostalgic buses, ferryboats, minibuses, dolmuşes, checkered taxis and coaches can be seen.
