The Borders, Orbits Competition organized by Siemens Sanat, one of Turkey's leading current art platforms since 2007, will be organized for the 10th time this year.
The application deadline for the competition, which enables young talents to express themselves, is May 6. The competition is held to support young artists and bring them to the attention of both national and international art worlds. Drawing a great deal of attention from young talents, applications are open to all undergraduate, graduate and post graduate students in Turkey, and they can apply with individual and collective works, regardless of field, until May 6. The winners will be announced following evaluations made by a selection board May 13-15, and three finalists will each win a prize of TL 10,000.
The selection board consists of curator and art critic Derya Yücel, artist Murat Germen, Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts Professor and artist Mürteza Fidan, artist Petrit Halilaj and Sinapole director and artist T. Melih Görgün. After filling application forms that can be found at Siemens Sanat's website, the applicants need to submit them to Siemens Sanat Borders, Orbits Project Coordination Office before May 6 at 4 p.m.
