The second Arch+Dsgn Summit architecture and design event, organized by the Architectural Activity Center, will take place on April 6-7 with the concept "New Approaches in Architecture and Design" at the Lütfi Kırdar International Congress and Exhibition Hall. Leading figures in architecture and design will speak in summit panel sessions and discuss current issues regarding identity and culture, design, training, location and technology.

The session "What would Architects Say? + The Place of the Student in Architecture," will include the founding partner of Kentsel Strateji, urban planner Ali Faruk Göksü; the founding partner of Kreatif Architecture, architect Aydan Volkan; and architect Cengiz Bektaş.

The second session at ATÖLYE with moderation by Nesile Yalçın, the manager of Mekansal Tasarım, will discuss the coordination and requirements of location design between different disciplines with the participation of ATÖLYE experience designer Ayşesu Çelik and architect Begüm Ayaz in the "Supradisciplinary Approaches in Location Design" session.

Another panel at the summit, "Sustainable Building Structures," will welcome interior and industrial designer Y. Tane Gültekin as the moderator for professor Hale Turgay Gezer, professor Nihal Şenlier, associate professor Yavuz Irmak and associate professor Funda Ürük will discuss architectural sustainability of structures.

Moderated by architect Hamdi Dostoğlu, the panel "Innovative Approaches in Design of Health Buildings" will welcome architect Sema Uluışık; Lima Architecture's founder, architect Aylin Şensoy; Norm Architecture's founding partner, architect Ahmet Tercan; and Metex Design Group Project Manager, architect Didem Gençsoy.

After the interest it drew last year with the theme "Interdisciplinary Approach to Design Process," the event has many subgenres and subdisciplines this year and B2B meetings, where the leading architecture offices and public and private employers will get together, offer 20-minute, one-on-one meetings to construction firms with these prominent professionals. B2B meetings will offer a chance to build bridges between professionals in the sector. Arch+Dsgn Summit 2018 offers a program with the purpose of strengthening ties between various disciplines, such as industrial design, engineering, fine arts, philosophy and sociology through the functional and aesthetic properties of architecture.

More than 20,000 architects, interior designers, designers and other creative industry professionals are expected to attend. After the popularity of the summit last year, it will open its doors to visitors free of charge this year.
