Istanbul will host a wide range of cultural and artistic events this week, including concerts, theater performances, exhibitions, museum programs and outdoor film screenings.
Theatergoers can see "Of Mice and Men," adapted from the work of American author John Steinbeck, on Sept. 5 and 7 at Bakırköy Butik Sahne.
Eyfel Sema Çoruh will perform her one-woman adaptation of "Çalıkuşu" on Sept. 2 at Taksim Istiklal Sahne.
Metin Zakoğlu will direct and star in “The Man with the Flower in His Mouth,” an adaptation of Luigi Pirandello’s classic play, on Sept. 5 and Sept. 6 at Cafe Theatre Koşuyolu.
Instrumental jazz group KAOS will perform Sept. 2 at the AKM Multipurpose Hall as part of the Türk Telekom Prime AKM Summer Concerts series.
Turkish singer Yıldız Tilbe will perform Sept. 2 at the Ataköy Marina Open-Air Stage in a concert organized by Bayhan Production.
The Fazıl Say Jazz Quintet will perform Sept. 2 and 3 at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre as part of a tour organized by Pozitif Müzik.
Istanbul West Side Collective, or IWSC, will take the stage Sept. 4 at Zorlu PSM’s Vestel Amfi as part of its “City Sounds” series.
Jazz-fusion quartet Leviers will present its “Leviers & Inspirations” project on Sept. 5 at the AKM Multipurpose Hall.
Alternative rock band Gece will perform Sept. 5 at Zorlu PSM’s Vestel Amfi, while Ayna will take the stage the same day at Jolly Joker Atakent Tema.
The exhibition “Temas” ("Contact"), which focuses on the architectural heritage of Karaköy Palas, will remain on display at Karaköy Palas through Oct. 1.
A selection of works by Japanese artist Yoko Ono, titled “Içses ve Içyapı" ("Yoko Ono: Insound and Instructure"), will be on view at the Sakıp Sabancı Museum through Dec. 27.
The Sakıp Sabancı Museum will also host exhibitions featuring works from its painting collection and “Karalamalar, Meşkler” in its temporary exhibition spaces.
The “Türk Resmini Izlemek” or “Exploring Turkish Painting,” exhibition at the Türkiye Iş Bankası Painting and Sculpture Museum will be open free of charge throughout September.
"The Great Gatsby," adapted from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, will be screened on Sept. 4 at the AKM Open-Air Cinema.
Christopher Nolan’s four-time Oscar-winning science-fiction film "Inception" will be shown on Sept. 5 at the same venue.
"Sense and Sensibility," adapted from Jane Austen’s classic novel, will be screened on Sept. 6 at Zorlu PSM’s Vestel Amfi as part of Pluxee Cinema Days.
