World Economic Forum cancels invitation for N. Korea to Davos conference

The World Economic Forum (WEF) on Wednesday cancelled its invitation to a delegation from North Korea for the Davos conference.
The decision comes in the wake of North Korea's announcement on Jan. 6 that it had tested a hydrogen bomb.
There will be no official dialogue with North Korea during the WEF meeting in Davos, WEF official Philipp Rosler told journalists at the pre-Davos press conference in Geneva on Wednesday.
More than 2,500 participants, including over 40 heads of state or government, will convene at the 46th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, taking place from Jan. 20 to 23.
The theme of the meeting this year will be "Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Critical current challenges, such as security, climate change and 'new normal' global growth and commodity prices, are among the issues on the agenda.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimsek and Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavuşoglu will participate in the meeting on behalf of Turkey.
The U.S. delegation is led by Vice President Joe Biden. Also, Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter are attending.
Participants will also include more than 1,500 business leaders from the Forum's 1,000 member companies, 800 public figures as well as recognized leaders from other Forum communities.
