The number of companies established in Turkey with international capital in 2014 increased to 4,736, up from 3,875 in 2013, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey said in a report published on Friday. Some 1,122 - over 26 percent of the total - of foreign-partnered companies was founded directly by Syrians or with Syrians who partnered with local businessmen. Out of the total number of foreign-funded companies in 2014, 1,257 were funded from Syria, 302 were German-funded, and 275 were financed by Iran. More than 39,000 companies have been the recipient of international investment, as of June 2014, according to data from the Ministry of Economy. Throughout 2014, the number of new companies increased 17.71 percent to 57,710, compared with 49,028 in 2013. There was also a ten percent decrease to 14,002 in the number of companies that went out of business.
