Fenerbahçe Ülker added 28-year old Nigerian power forward Ekpe Udoh to their roster in another impressive summer signing. Last season he played with the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. But in 37 games he recorded just 0.8ppg but helped them make it to the conference semi-finals. The previous (2013-14) season Udoh played at the Milwaukee Bucks BA. In 42 games he averaged 3.4ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.0bpg in the 2013-14 season. In 2010 he was drafted by Golden State Warriors in the first round sixth overall.
The former Baylor University star is in his sixth season in pro basketball. He was voted All-Big 12 Newcomer of the Year back in 2010 at his college time. Udoh has played also professionally in Israel (Bnei Hasharon). The scouts describe him as a "a very athletic inside operator, with great leaping ability and long arms. He has good timing for shot-blocking and defensive rebounds, needs to improve his defensive skills to play at an upper level. Offensively, he worked hard to add a decent mid-range shot, but he hasn' t got 3-point range yet." The signing brings more NBA experience to Fener who also have players such as Jan Vesely, Andrew Goudelock, Pero Antic and Semih Erden. Fenerbahçe will be looking to Udoh to provide some much-needed rim protection to their already-strong front line.
