The Golden State Warriors failed to match the best mid-season win-loss record in NBA history when they lost 113-95 at Detroit on Saturday, suffering their second loss in three games. The Warriors had been aiming to match the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers and 1995-96 Chicago Bulls in reaching the midway point of the season at 38-3, but fell short. They did retain a 10-1/2 game lead in the Pacific Division as their nearest rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, lost at home against Sacramento to end a 10-game winning streak.
