World-famous Italian author Susanna Tamaro's new book "Un cuore pensante" (A Heart Thinking) has finally made it to her Turkish readers.

According to a statement by Can Publishing House, "Un cuore pensante," translated into Turkish by Eren Candey as "Düşünen Bir Yürek," hit the shelves on Sunday.

The author presents some sections from her childhood and young adult life in the book, which centers on a different and lonely little girl who is trying to make sense of the world. Combining the girl's interrogations on life, existence, death, belief and religion with Tamaro's present thoughts, the book is an intimate look at the age and society we live in. "Un cuore pensante" depicts Susanna Tamaro's spiritualty, which does not sacrifice reality to the mystery but finds mystery in reality.

Susanna Tamaro was born in Trieste, Italy in 1957. The earthquake she experienced at the age of 18 in Friuli in 1976, and a malignant disease she had at 25 left deep marks.

Starting her writing career at 27, Tamaro's debut work that introduced her to the literature world was a collection called "Per voce sola," (For Solo Voice) and her novel "Va' dove ti porta il cuore" (Follow Your Heart) remained a best-seller in the charts for months. Translated into many languages, the book brought a great deal of fame to Tamaro, and it was adapted for the big screen in 1995.

Following her novels, "La testa fra le nuvole" (Head in the Clouds) and "Anima Mundi", and story collections "Rispondimi" (Answer Me) and "Fuori" (Out), she published her essay book "Ogni parola e un seme" (Every Word is a Seed) in 2005. "Ascolta la mia voce" (Listen to My Voice), a prequel to "Follow Your Heart," was released in 2006, followed by "Per Sempre" (Forever) in 2011.

Publishing her next novel "L'isola che c'e" (There is an Island) in the same year, Tamaro wrote "Ogni angeloee tremendo" (Every Angle is Terrifying) and "Via Crucis: Meditazioni e preghiere" (Way of the Cross) in 2013, and "Illmitz" in 2014. The famous Italian author lives in her apartment in Porano near Orvieto with her cats and dog.
