While a number of brands have had to shut down shops in Europe due to the economic crisis, in the Gulf region, Turkish retailers are fast on the rise. Designers are now joining in on our retailers' trend of heading to the Middle East and are increasing their presence in the region.
Popular Turkish television series have peaked Arab women's interest in Turkish made brands. In order to satisfy this demand, Dubai residents İnci Malik and Ebru Berge have launched a website called anjelique.me which offers a virtual shopping experience for Arab women by offering up Turkish designs.
The Dubai-based anjelique.me website offers a wide variety of Turkish-made products including accessories and shoes. Some of the products available on anjelique.me include the Dubai Emir Al Maktoum's favorite Husna sandals which are made in Bodrum, İnci Özayan's jewelry designs and Özlem Tuna's home accessories.
