Turkish Airlines (THY), which introduced the concept of perquisites to the global aviation industry over the past few years, is planning to introduce and globally promote products specific to Turkey with the new brand "We're From Turkey" (WE'R), THY's new social responsibility project.

THY is planning to promote and market various local products such as soaps, towels, chinaware, porcelain plates, evil eye amulets, scarves and shawls that reflect the thousand years of rich Turkish culture. The WE'R brand is a prestigious and ambitious project for THY and will be promoted through a different aspect.

The Project was introduced at a press meeting attended by THY General Manager Dr. Temel Kotil, THY Corporate Communication Chief Zeki Çukur, Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin and General Manager of Nar Gourmet, the product and concept partner of the project, Samir Bayraktar. Speaking at the event, Çukur said that as one of the most recognized and renowned Turkish brands in the world, THY will use its power and influence to promote local Turkish products. "This project aims to promote Turkey in a different way. WE'R is a mission brand, while we were selecting the products, we took hundreds of years of Anatolian tradition into consideration," Çukur said. Currently, there are 13 categories representing local culture and traditions and 24 products including olive oil, jam, marmalade, tea, coffee, molasses, tahini, pomegranate syrup, sugar candy, Turkish delight, honey, soap, groundnuts and dried fruits. Çukur underscored that their main target audience are foreign passengers followed by Turkish clients and Turkish media. The products will be sold at duty free shops, which provide easy access and tax-free products to passengers, and also at upscale tourist locations. "In the second phase, they will be sold online through an Internet shopping website that THY will establish for this project," Çukur added.
