The economic crisis approaching in Russia, crude oil prices that are denting economies in the Middle East and stagnation in Europe have turned focus on Turkey. Turkey has benefited from the outflow of funds from Thailand. Thailand's Capital Market Board announced that there has been a 41 percent increase in the capital outflow between January and October when compared to last year's figures. The spokesman for Thailand's Capital Market Board, Charuphan Intararong, announced that the capital outflow was mostly directed toward countries with mild risk and high yield and within the first 10 months of this year, capital outflow equaled $10.2 billion. Stable economies received the capital that was withdrawn from the country, with Hong Kong receiving 27.1 percent, Macau 13.1 percent and Turkey 11.8 percent. The inflow of funds from Thailand to Turkey was a bit above $1.2 billion within the first 10 months of this year.
