5 pct of store area of shopping malls to be reserved

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has approved the Law on Regulation of Retail Trade no.6585, which introduces many new regulations and practices for shopping malls. Accordingly, now at least 5 percent of shopping malls' store area will be reserved for small business owners and craftsman to be rented at market value. Retailers will not be able to offer discounts or campaigns without declaring the start and end dates. The law was published on the Official Gazette and came into force yesterday.
