The High Board of Privatization (ÖYK) approved the sale of the Orhaneli and Tunçbilek thermal power plants to Çelikler Taahhüt İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş., and the Soma B Thermal Power Plant to Konya Şeker Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., as the companies were the highest bidders in the privatization tenders for the plants. The related decision of the ÖYK was published on the Official Gazette of Turkey yesterday. Accordingly, the movable properties and the immovable properties at the Orhaneli plant in the northwestern province of Bursa and the Tunçbilek plant in the western province of Kütayha will be sold for $521 million to Çelikler Taahhüt İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş. The operating rights of the mining sites with mining licenses no. 79528 and no. 73021 will also be transferred to the company. The board also approved the Soma B Thermal Santral Plant and the immovable properties used at the plant, which is currently owned by Soma Electricity Production, to be sold for $685.5 million to Konya Şeker Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.
