While the global economy has yet to recover from various crises, the rise of the Turkish furniture sector continues. Turkish furniture dealers made $2 billion in exports in 2014 and the target set for 2015 is $2.8 billion. The Turkish furniture sector has started investing more in the Middle East, and is now focusing on designs that are preferred more by Arabs.
Asortie Furniture, which exports to more than 32 countries and is one of the leading names in classical Turkish furniture design, has opened a luxury furniture shop in Dubai to improve its share in the Middle Eastern market. Asorti A.Ş. CEO Murat Erat said that with their Dubai shop, they want to serve not just the Arab market, but the entire Middle Eastern and African markets.
The Dubai shop opened last week, and Erat highlighted that they are targeting the wealthy class of Arabs and those of other countries who come to Dubai for shopping. Moreover, Erat stressed there are many wealthy people willing to spend large amounts on furniture and decoration.
Erat added that Arabs mostly like hand-made furniture with gold leaf patterns, and that the goods sold in their Dubai shop cost between $15,000 and $120,000. He also added that on their opening day, they received many orders and they are hopeful about the success of their Dubai shop.
