The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) reported that retail prices increased 1.13 percent and wholesale prices increased 1.57 percent in Istanbul last month. The İTO Cost of Living Indices for Wage Earners on the 1995 basis has increased 9.76 percent annually and Wholesale Price Index has increased 11.82 percent annually as of March. Compared to the previous year, retail prices increased 11.01 percent and wholesale prices increased 9.83 percent in March 2015. On a monthly basis, while retail prices increased 2.81 percent in culture, education and entertainment, 1.80 percent in food expenses, 0.83 percent in household goods, 0.81 percent in house expenses, 0.29 percent in health and personal care expenses and 0.10 percent in transportation and communication expenses, there was a 0.80 percent decrease in clothing expenses and stability in other expense groups last month.
