Turkish families expecting a child in the immediate future will be able to enjoy financial support proposed in a new aid package.
From Friday, the government will directly give mothers-to-be a one-time payment of 300 Turkish liras ($115) for one child, 400 liras for two children and 600 liras for three children.
Turkish citizens living abroad also will benefit from the payments and can apply in consulates.
It is expected that the first sums will be paid in June.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced the support package in January, which includes mothers being able to work part-time with full pay immediately following maternity leave.
