Turkish drivers wait on 16 kilometer long, three day queue at Iran border

As Iran slowed down border passages from Turkey on Sunday, a 16-kilometer long truck queue emerged at the Gürbulak Customs Gate in eastern Turkey.
Drivers had to wait in the area for located in Doğubeyazıt district of eastern province of Ağrı for three days.
"We call on our statesman; they should come up with a solution. We have been here for three days, we ran out of food. The weather is cold," driver Metin Arslan said.
Starting his journey from Istanbul, driver Ulaş İnç stated that he still has a long way to Uzbekistan and they need an urgent solution.
Border crossing of commercial vehicles have been consistently coming across with problems and delays with Iran, in addition to disruptions in customs services and traffic due to the PKK's terror activities in the region.
