The Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV) transferred approximately TL 70 million ($23.6 million) to the defense industry last year. According to the TSKGV's announcement, the contribution to the development and improvement of the national defense industry since 1987 is ongoing. The TSKGV, which includes institutions such as Military Electronics Industries (ASELSAN), Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TUSAŞ), Roketsan, HAVENSAN, İŞBİR and Aspilsan - the major players in the national defense industry - again spent its earnings for the defense industry.
The TSKGV transferred TL 32.8 million collected from the dividends of the companies that are members of it, to the National Defense Support Foundation. The TSKGV is the main supporter of various projects including the National Ship (MİLGEM), Göktür Satellite, Anka and Altay Tank initiatives.
TL 36.5 million was transferred to the Firing, Testing and Evaluation Center, established under the National Defense Ministry by the TSKGV. The center, which aims to provide a healthy environment for test firing, which causes many problems for defense companies, was established last year in the Karapınar district of Konya province.
