While Turkey prepares for the 2016 UEFA European Championship, to be held in France in June, Bülent Gürcan, the general director of TeknoSA - a technology retail company that is part of Sabancı Holding - said they are ready to give their full support to the Turkish team. Gürcan also added that, prior to the start of the tournament, they expect television, cellphone and tablet PC sales to increase by around 20 percent.
TeknoSA has been the official sponsor of the Turkish team for nine years. Therefore, the world's second-most popular tournament, Euro 2016, requires much preparation - not only for the national football team, but also for the sponsor. Gürcan emphasized that technology and sports are an inseparable duo in life, saying that they feel the responsibility to back the national team along with any value specific to Turkey.
TeknoSA has been supporting the national team with technology supplies since 2007. However, the company wanted to do more to foster team spirit. Thus, it also prepared a commercial including the official colors of the team with the slogan, "red for everyone, white for everyone, technology for everyone."
Additionally, Gürcan said they have already provided the national team with the necessary equipment that is compatible with the technological infrastructure that will be used in France. Gürcan added that Euro 2016 will be an important anchor for them in terms of efforts to increase their television sales. According to TeknoSA, this increase will be around 20 percent. Moreover, the matches will be available to view not only on television but also via cellphones and tablets, according to the company. Gürcan stressed that TeknoSA supports various sports, including basketball, volleyball and e-sports.
