Tekfen-Al Jaber Engineering joint venture — in which Tekfen İnşaat ve Tesisat A.Ş., a subsidiary of Tekfen Holding A.Ş., holds a 50 percent stake — will sign a deal on a stadium project in Qatar.
The statement released by Tekfen Holding A.Ş. on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) read that the Tekfen- Al Jaber Engineering joint venture has been invited by the commissioning administration, "Qatar Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy," to sign a contract on the turn-key engineering and construction of the "Main Works for the Fifth Precinct Stadium," which is one of the stadium complexes where the 2022 Qatar World Cup final games will be held. The cost of the project is stated to be 1.25 billion Qatari riyals ($342.5 million).
Tekfen is a Turkish conglomerate based in Istanbul. The holding's subsidiaries engage in construction activities including power generation, airports, petroleum and roadways. Tekfen operates in Turkey, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Middle East, North Africa and Europe.
