In the fırst 10 months of this year, approximately 51 percent of the commercial flights to and from Turkey were made at Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen airports. According to the information compiled from the official website of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), 376,956 commercial flights took place to and from Atatürk Airport in January-October of 2017, with 112,932 domestic flights and 264,024 international flights.
In the same period, Sabiha Gökçen International Airport saw a total of 177,216 commercial flights, with 112,752 domestic flights and 64,464 international flights.
Accordingly, during the January-October period, the total number of commercial flights to and from both airports was recorded at 554,172.
At all the airports in Turkey, the number of commercial flights is reported as around 1 million in 10 months of 2017, while about 51 percent of them were made to and from Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen airports.
