The International KısaKes Short Film Festival will introduce 12 young directors from Jan. 26 to Jan. 28 in Istanbul. Open to all short filmmakers from around the world, this year's edition has received 1,300 submission from 87 countries. The festival was initially established by students who want to reach other students from around the world through cinema. The viewers will watch the competition of selected directors along with some other short films of internationally recognized directors. The audience was also invited to vote on the films, allowing them to share in the competition's excitement. Additionally, some of cinema's leading names, including foreign and local film professionals, will participate in workshops and discussions in order to share their experiences with the young directors. The festival's gala night will be held on the evening of Jan. 28 and five directors among the 12 finalists will receive their awards in an unforgettable evening.
