Jeremy Irons to receive achievement award in Antalya

World-renown British actor Jeremy Irons, who has acted in many famous productions such as ‘The Merchant of Venice,' ‘Dungeons and Dragons, ‘Lolita' and many others, will be the guest of the 52nd Antalya Film Festival to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award

Hosted by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and Festival President Menderes Türel, the 52nd International Antalya Film Festival will host world-renowned actor Jeremy Irons during the opening ceremony of the festival. British actor Jeremy Irons, who captured the hearts of Turkish audiences after his performance in "The French Lieutenant's Woman" alongside Meryl Streep, will come to Antalya to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the International Antalya Film Festival. Irons, one of the most in-demand actors of the past three decades, will attend the opening ceremony at the Glass Pyramid on Nov. 29. Moreover, one of Iron's most popular films, "Dead Ringers" in which the actor plays twin brothers, will be screened as a part of the festival. Following the film screening, the British actor will attend a Q&A session with movie buffs.

U.K.'s present to the cinema: Jeremy Irons


Jeremy Irons is known as a successful actor who can get into the mind of the any character he plays. Considered as one of the greatest actors to have come out of the U.K., Irons won an Academy Award for Best Male Actor with his role in "Reversal of Fortune" and is a six-time Golden Globe nominee, winning twice. His filmography places him in the company of other legendary actors and proof that he is one of the first names that comes to mind when it comes to play daring, complicated and tough characters on the silver screen. Thanks to his unmatched voice and his ability to adapt to the atmosphere of a period drama, he is a popular actor in historical and fantasy films. Although, he is a legendary actor on the silver screen, Irons has had equal success on the stage, going right back to the beginning of his career. Along with his cinema projects, he continues to consistently tread the boards. Irons looks set to dominate the box offices in 2016 with his films, "La Corrispondenza" by director Giuseppe Tornatore, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" by Zack Snyder and "Assassin's Creed" by Justin Kurzel.
