Ekşi Elmalar (Sour Apples)

Written and directed by Yılmaz Erdoğan, the Turkish production "Ekşi Elmalar" stars Farah Zeynep Abdullah, Şükran Ovalı, Devrim Yakut, Ersin Korkut and Fatih Artman. Set in the late 1970s, the film follows a large family, who lives in an apple orchard in the eastern province of Hakkari, through three decades. The story sheds light on Turkey's last 30 years through the town's mayor Aziz Özay and his family.

Muhammad: The Messenger of God

"Muhammad: The Messenger of God" is a highly-anticipated film from Iranian-director Majid Majidi, who is known for his previous films, "Children of Heaven" and "The Song of Sparrows." The film follows the Islamic-prophet Muhammad from his birth to age 12 while offering a portrayal of 6th and 7th century Mecca. Production lasted five years and it is the most expensive film ever shot in Iran, with a budget of $40 million. The film stars Mahdi Pakdel, Sareh Bayat, Ali Reza Shoja-Nuri, Mina Sadati, Rana Azadivar and Mohsen Tanabandeh.

The Accountant

Hiding behind his accounting desk in a small town, Christian Wolff does freelance accounting for some of the most dangerous crime organizations in the world. When he began to work for a company that builds the latest technology robots, another accountant in the company detects millions of dollars' worth in discrepancies. As soon as Christian rolls up his sleeves to investigate the accounts, he discovers an evil plot which has been kept in the dark for years. Starring Ben Affleck, J.K. Simmons, Anna Kendrick, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey Tambor and John Lithgow, "The Accountant" is directed by Gavin O'Connor.

The 9th Life of Louis Drax

Starring Jamie Dornan, Sarah Gadon and Aaron Paul, the Canadian and British co-production is directed by French director Alexandre Aja. The film investigates the mysteries behind the death of a man named Louis Drax, who survived many accidents until his life ends with a tragic incident.

Julieta

60-year-old Julieta is about to leave Spain when she finds out that her daughter, Anita, whom she hasn't seen for a long time, is still alive and has three children. She had planned to start a new life in Portugal, but that changes after her discovery causes her to stay in Madrid. She writes a letter to her daughter. When Julieta writes the letter, the audience watches her life through flashbacks, including her life with the daughter's father and the tense relationship with her servant. Directed by Spanish director Pedro Almodovar, the film stars Emma Suarez, Adriana Ugarte, Daniel Grao and Inma Cuesta.

Kubo and The Two Strings

The animated film "Kubo and the Two Strings," which is voiced by Art Parkinson, Matthew McConaughey, Charlize Theron and Rooney Mara, is directed by Travis Knight. Kubo lives a quiet, normal life in a small-seaside village until a spirit from the past turns his life upside down by re-igniting an age-old vendetta.
