The ceremony was marked by the mistake done by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, who announced "La La Land" as the best picture. The film's producers were already giving their acceptance speeches when they were interrupted by the news that "Moonlight" had actually won the best picture award, which is Hollywood's top prize.
