Five movies debut in Turkish theaters this week

'The Age of Shadows'

Directed by Jee-woon Kim and starring Byung-hun Lee, Yoo Gong, Kang-ho Song, Ji-min Han and Hee-soon Park, "The Age of Shadows" meets filmgoers this week.

The new film by Jee-woon Kim, who also directed the films "I Saw the Devil" and "Janghwa, Hongryeon," tells a spy story from 1920s South Korea, which was under Japanese occupation.

Shown at the world's most important film festivals like Venice and Toronto, the film became the blockbuster of South Korean cinema with 4 million viewers in 10 days.

'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'

Co-directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is for adventure and action lovers and has Johnny Depp in the leading role.

Javier Bardem, Orlando Bloom, Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites are the actors accompanying Depp, who is playing Captain Jack Sparrow one more time. The film shows the head-to-head fight of Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Salazar, the most formidable opponent he has faced so far.

'On the Milky Road'

Written and directed by Emir Kusturica, "On the Milky Road" tells the tale of a love story starting during the Bosnian War.

A man who takes milk to the front while dreaming of a peaceful life during the Bosnian War falls in love with a mysterious Italian woman who is a newcomer in the village. Starring Emir Kusturica and Monica Bellucci in the leading roles, the film focuses on the passionate but forbidden love of the two, which disrupts their life.

'Gifted'

Directed by Marc Webb, the film stars Chris Evans, Jenny Slate, Mckenna Grace and Octavia Spencer in the leading roles.

Written by Tom Flynn, the American production drama focuses on the story of a man, who lives in Florida and his training of his gifted nephew.

'Bİlal: A New Breed of Hero'

Co-directed by Khurram H. Alavi and Ayman Jamal, the animation of the week tells the story of Bilal al-Habashi, a former black slave who is one of the first believers in the Prophet Muhammad. The Turkish voiceover of the Emirati production was performed by Engin Altan Düzyatan, Tamer Karadağlı, Ayça Bingöl, Volkan Severcan and Ayhan Kahya.
