We have been shot at on July 15 by the coup plotters. Some of us died, some of us were wounded and maimed. But we still survived and we are going strong.
We have been frequently bombed by the PKK and by Daesh in the past year; some of us have died, some of us have been wounded and maimed. But we have survived and we are still going strong.
We are here to stay and we shall not be moved!
Yet we will not forgive those who once again attacked us on Saturday night in Istanbul in two separate bombings that martyred 38 of our people and wounded more than 150. We will cry, we will pray, we will comfort each other, we will take care of the families of the fallen. But we will not forget.
The attacks that we have been subjected to are no surprise for us.
We have been dealing heavy blows to the PKK and thus they were trying to get back at us just to prove that they are at least surviving.
Our security forces have been hunting down more and more PKK terrorists in the mountains, killing scores with our dreaded Turkish-made armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). We have been capturing several would be PKK bombers. We have been foiling several bombing attempts in the past several months. Yet at times they slip by and launch attacks like the two in İstanbul on Saturday.
The PKK leadership in the Qandil Mountains have recently been hopping mad with the success of our security forces.
The Turkish military has been dealing deadly blows to the PKK in northern Syria. Our forces have captured the Manbij-Afrin line that was the main communication route for the PKK forces and soon we will be capturing the strategic city of al-Bab with the help of the Free Syrian Army (FSA). That too is sending shockwaves among PKK leaders and their so-called allies.
So they are trying to get back at us, yet these are really empty gestures that only create deeper hatred and resolve among the Turkish people to finish off the PKK at all costs.
However, we have to point out that the Turkish people are also aware that the PKK is getting support in all forms from foreign countries and want their politicians to retaliate.
Turks are aware that the open support given to the PKK in Germany by some politicians and leaders have encouraged the terrorists to increase their terrorist activities hiding behind the cover of "we are opposing the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan administration."
Turks are aware how the French, Belgian, Dutch and British authorities are encouraging PKK militants to perform anti-Turkish activities.
Turks are aware that the arms embargo imposed on Turkey by Austria is designed to weaken Turkey's fight against the PKK.
Turks are aware of the support given to the PKK in northern Syria especially by the Americans and that these people who are trained in camps in Kobani are then entering Turkey to attack our people all over the country. There are intelligence reports that at least one of the bombers in Istanbul came from Syria. Thus Turks see that the U.S. also has on its hands the blood of our citizens who were butchered in Istanbul on Saturday.
So in view of all these facts, what would you do if you were in the shoes of us Turks?
