Don't we all know what will happen next if we tolerate this?

In the aftermath of terror attacks in Europe, Muslims living in the West are unfortunately exposed to increased levels of abuse by some who won't even leave them to live their daily life in peace, despite the attacks having no relation to religion, namely Islam

A pregnant Muslim woman who subjected to a tirade of abuse on a bus in London just because she was speaking a foreign language and the woman who was subjected to vulgarities like, "You are a f..king Muslim - leave the country" by a man trying to take her parking space while she was driving to work are just two terrible examples of the pure hatred being directed at Muslims in the Western world. These are two cases of bigotry targeting innocent people as they try to live their lives in these hard times. Unfortunately, these attacks which are becoming more frequent and more dangerous are seen as "normal" with each passing day. More and more, Muslims all over the world feel more hated, rejected and besieged.

It has become commonplace to blame Muslims en masse in the aftermath of the rise of DAESH. This terrorist group has nothing to do with Islam and only uses the religion as an excuse for its bloodbaths. Meanwhile, the bigots who harass Muslims on buses, in parking areas, on live television shows, or during presidential campaign speeches are not leaving DAESH alone to its dirty agenda; they are unfortunately helping it by recruiting even more than the notorious terrorist group itself. While DAESH is breeding what they need to maintain their bigotry and paving the way towards a new fascism, these bigots unknowingly feed DAESH by stereotyping and scapegoating, and assisting in turning DAESH into a fatter, more potent monster.

This week U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump proposed the blockage of all Muslims from entering the U.S. Intellectuals previously saw him as a joke, until now. As the polls continue to rise, it has become clear that the joke isn't funny anymore. Now, it's scary. At the same time, the far-right National Front in France has seen record gains in regional elections. The Marine Le Pen movement has become the leading political force in French politics for the first time, ahead of the traditional socialist and republican parties. Considering recent reports that the National Front received loans from Russian banks earlier this year, we must ask ourselves if we are on our way to a new world order in which Trump and Le Pen will be the presidents of two of the most prominent countries in the world accompanied by Vladimir Putin, Bashar Assad and a living and breathing DAESH.

Haven't we already seen what will happen next if we tolerate this? Hasn't the world already said "never again" after what happened to Jews in Europe in the 1930s? The League of Nations failed to stop the Manchuria invasion by the Japanese, the invasion of Ethiopia by Mussolini's Italian army, Franco in Spain and, last but not least, Adolf Hitler in Europe. Hitler wasn't taken seriously by other nations until after he seized power in Germany. In fact, the anti-Semitic and anti-Communist sentiments of Western leaders as well as an "isolationist" mentality provided the breeding ground for disillusionment and the welcoming of Hitler as a solution to both of these "problems." Today the United Nations - the replacement for the ineffective League of Nations after World War II - is following the same path as its predecessor which was a product of the catastrophe of World War I. The U.N. is failing to do something, anything to stop hell from kicking down the door.

After 9/11, the Bush administration declared a "war on terrorism" and justified every single state action; including the racial profiling and religious discrimination of Muslims, by claiming it would stop al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden. Surveys indicate that over 1 million people were killed as a result of this "war on terrorism" in Iraq alone. The U.S. finally hunted down bin Laden but the subsequent targeting of ideas and the beliefs with missiles has never worked. Supporting military coups against freely elected governments in Maghreb just because they are Muslim, keeping quiet in the face of sectarian-driven vengeful violence in Iraq and supporting Assad, the leader who has killed hundreds of thousands of his own people in order to prevent the election of religious clerics in free and democratic elections have only led to a fall of the dominos so far, much like the bias and inaction which led to World War II in the 1930s.

We are trying to live in a so-called modern world with plastic democracies and fake freedoms. Satanists who worship the devil are not put in prison for their beliefs, but the believers of a major religion are systematically becoming the victims of persecution, stereotyping and scapegoating; the results of which are inevitably gloomy if we do not stop normalizing the marginal. Just because you think that some Muslims lean towards radical groups doesn't mean that you can discriminate against them as a religious group; especially if the main reason for doing so is a mere result of your country's actions in the first place.

I am afraid one day we will wake up and find ourselves in a world where the Islamists, no need to ask if they are linked to a terrorist group or not, are hunted down like Zombies, and anyone who is suspected of being Muslim is destroyed just because they are infected.
