Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Monday that the world needs to overcome global challenges by fighting them together.
Attending the 21st International Junior Diplomats Training Program in Ankara, Çavuşoğlu warned students about various global challenges and emphasized the necessity of facing them "together."
"International terrorism, illegal organizations, organized crimes and the rise of extremism, racism, xenophobia and discrimination, migration problems, climate change -- we have to focus on all these issues," he said.
Addressing young diplomats from 33 countries, Çavuşoğlu said the world "needs their vision, energy and idealism to overcome these challenges."
The 21st International Junior Diplomats Training Program (Winter School), gathers diplomats from 33 countries in Ankara, Nevşehir and Istanbul between Jan. 12 and 28, 2015.
On a bilateral basis, the Turkish Foreign Ministry's Diplomacy Academy organizes training programs for young diplomats of other countries. In 2014, a total of 204 foreign diplomats were trained in the academy in bilateral and multilateral training programs. In the last 10 years, the total number of foreign diplomats who received training in the academy reached 1,100.
"We also learn from you. This is not a one-way process. This is the aim of this program. We also learn from your vision, your experience as well. Therefore this is a mutually beneficial program," Çavuşoğlu said. "Our schedule is very tight, but we always have time for young diplomats."
