Turkey's Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said on Sunday that Turkey is glad that the sanctions and embargo against Iran have been removed.

Prior to a five-day visit to the U.K., Switzerland and Germany, Davutoğlu spoke at the Atatürk International Airport in Istanbul before his departure.

PM Davutoğlu reminded the public about his personal efforts along with the Turkish government in 2010, which included efforts to normalize relations between Western countries and Iran along with Brazil, Davutoğlu expressed his content that the sanctions against Iran are being removed.

Meanwhile, Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also released a message on Sunday, congratulating all parties who took part in the process.

"Turkey warmly welcomes the announcement made on January 16, 2016 on the attainment of the 'Implementation Day' of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) regarding the Iranian nuclear program. Turkey has always considered diplomacy and negotiations as the only option in the resolution of the Iranian nuclear dossier. We congratulate all parties concerned that made possible this outcome which symbolizes the success of diplomacy," the message said.

The message also underlined the "uninterrupted and full implementation of the JCPOA in full transparency under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency" for the process to prove fruitful.
