Istanbul (Daily Sabah)- The Turkish Statistics Institute has released inflation figures for Feb. 2014. The data shows that the consumer price index increased by 0.43 percent compared to the previous month, by 2.41 percent compared to December of the previous year, by 7.89 percent compared to February of the previous year and by 7.6 percent compared to the average of the previous 12 months.
With regard to spending by sector, Feb. 2014 saw increases in restaurants and hotels by 1.42 percent, in household goods by 1.33 percent, in various goods and services by 1.14 percent and in the health sector by 0.76 percent. There was only a decrease in the clothing and shoe sector by 5.06 percent in Feb. 2014.
The domestic producer price index last month saw an increase of 1.38 percent compared to the previous month, by 4.75 percent compared to December of the previous year, by 12.40 percent compared to February of the previous year and an increase of 6.11.
