One out of 80 of world's vehicles produced in Turkey, data reveals

According to the data released by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), worldwide motor vehicle production for the first 6 months of 2014 reached 45,212,661 vehicles and increased by 3.5 percent when compared with the same period of 2013.
Automobiles formed 75 percent of overall production, followed by light commercial vehicles.
Turkey stood at 17th place in worldwide production with 1.2 percent share within the 6 month period, and each vehicle out of 80 was produced in Turkey. When compared with the same period in 2013, Turkish vehicle production decreased by 0.9 percent to 564.078 vehicles with 357,047 automobiles and 207,031 commercial vehicles built.
Global production increased by 3.5 percent.
China alone produced one-fifth of all vehicles with 11,783,335 vehicles, doubling the U.S. that stood at the second place with 5,943,329 vehicles. They were followed by Japan with 5.06 million, Germany with 3.06 million and South Korea with 2.34 million vehicles.
China also increased its production by 9,6 percent when compared with 2013, although Iran made the highest increase with 39.7 percent. Egypt suffered a dramatic decrease with 30.9 percent.
