CarrefourSA announced in the Public Disclosure Platform that it has agreed with Akyürek Holding to incorporate 26 of the İsmar market chains across Turkey. CarrefourSA CEO Mehmet T. Nane said 2014 was a successful year for CarrefourSA. Stating that CarrefourSa has made many investments ranging from the market concept and procurement processes to IT infrastructure and human resources, Nane said that "As CarrefourSA, we will continue to invest and grow in 2015, too. We have said our company is open to mergers and acquisitions so far. The important thing here is the contributions of the steps that we will take to our brand." Talking about the acquisition of İsmar market chains, Akyürek Holding Chairman Serdal Akyürek said, "As a result of some evaluations, we decided to exit from the supermarket retail sector which has a 10 percent share in our TL 1.7 billion consolidated turnover. We will focus on growing in marketing and distribution, which are our main businesses. In accordance with our growth targets, we will continue to invest in the marketing and distribution sectors and we will use all the resources we received from this agreement to reach our growth targets."
