The salary increases that retired people and civil servants will receive this month has been determined. According to the inflation rate in the first six months of 2015, the salaries of both retired people and civil servants will be increased by 4.76 percent in July. Moreover, salaries below TL 1,100 ($409) will be given an additional increase on an equal basis. While retired people will be given an extra TL 100 if they receive below TL 1,000, pensions above TL 1,000 will be given additional money to round salaries to TL 1,100. It is on the government's agenda to pay the salaries before the end of Ramadan. Since Ramadan started on Friday June 17 this year, pensions will be paid early. It was stated that the necessary preparations were completed to pay citizens before the eid. Salaries for retired people and civil servants were paid before eids in the past. For example, the salaries were paid before last year's Ramadan, which fell between June 28 and July 30, 2014. While retired public servants are paid between the first and fifth day of every month, retired workers are paid on the 18th and 24th day of every month. Civil servants, on the other hand, are paid on the 15th day of every month. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced that the inflation rate in the first six months of this year was 4.76 percent. Therefore, all pensions will be increased by 4.76 percent. Salaries of civil servants, contracted officers and retired civil servants were going to be increased by 3 percent and if the inflation rate exceeded 3 percent in the first six months, they were going to be paid the difference. Since the inflation reached 4.76 percent in this period, those people gained the right to receive the difference. The inflation rate difference was actualized at 1.76 percent.
