Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said those who want peace and stability in eastern and southeastern Turkey are concerned about the rising terrorist attacks and added that the biggest obstacle to public investment is also the PKK.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Zeybekci said the PKK prevents any kind of hospital, bridge or dam from being built in the region, hindering the regions' developments and stay in welfare.
He also underlined that the rising terrorist attacks are affecting investments and those who want to invest in the region hesitated and that the biggest obstacle to public investments is the PKK.
Zeybekci also added that the early elections on the Nov. 1 will make things easier. "People will choose what they believe in. The nation will make a decision and the uncertainties will be removed," he said. He also asserted that the elections will not have a negative impact on the budget. "When considered from the structural point of view, none of the indicators support negative improvement - neither our budget deficit nor our trade balance. But with these terrorist acts when the elections are coming is benefiting the speculators and opportunists," he said. He also said the elections will eliminate instability and this perception in the markets.
