The dollar fell below 3.00 against the Turkish lira on Wednesday, as the PKK terror organization signaled a cease-fire late Tuesday in addition to positive budget data received earlier in the day. The dollar rate level hit 3.07 on Tuesday, breaking a historic record against the Turkish lira. Breaking its record with 3.48 on Tuesday, the euro also fell below 3.37 against the Turkish lira from the 3.43 level. Meanwhile, the Borsa Istanbul (BIST 100) index exceeded 74,000 points during the day, increasing by more than 1 percent, adding to its 2.5 percent gain on Tuesday.
