PM Yıldırım takes driver's seat of economic board

The Economic Coordination Board, formerly chaired by the deputy prime minister, will now be under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, with Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek assuming chairmanship during the prime minister's absence. Deputy assignments have already been made for the High Planning Board, the Supreme Privatization Board, the Defense Industry High Coordination Council, the Economic Coordination Board, the Money Credit Coordination Board and the Monitoring Committee of the Coordination of Reforms and Investment. According to a Prime Ministry notice published in the Official Gazette on Friday, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım was assigned as chairman of the Economic Coordination Board along with deputy Prime Ministers Nurettin Canikli and Mehmet Şimşek, with the ministers of science, industry and technology, labor and social security, the economy, energy and natural resources, customs and trade, development and the minister of finance serving as members.

The new council and committee members are as follows:

Supreme Privatization Board: Chairman: Prime Minister Yıldırım. Members: Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Berat Albayrak, Finance Minister Naci Ağbal, Transportation, Maritime and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan.

Defense Industry High Coordination Council: Chairman: Prime Minister Yıldırım. Members: Deputy Prime Minister Nurettin Canıklı, Science, Industry and Technology Minister Faruk Özlü, Finance Minister Naci Ağbal and National Defense Minister Fikri Işık.

Money Credit Coordination Board: Chairman: Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek. Members: Deputy Prime Minister Nurettin Canıklı, Economy Miniter Nihat Zeybekci, Customs and Trade Minister Bülent Tüfenkçi, Development Minister Lütfi Elvan and Finance Minister Naci Ağbal.

Monitoring Committee of the Coordination of Reforms and Investment: Chairman: Deputy Prime Minister Nurettin Canikli, Members: Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ; European Union Minister Ömer Çelik, Labor and Social Security Minister Süleyman Soylu; Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, Interior Minister Efkan Ala, Development Minister Lütfi Elvan and Finance Minister Naci Ağbal.

High Planning Board: Chairman: Prime Minister Yıldırım, Members: Deputy Prime Ministers Mehmet Şimşek and Nurettin Canıklı, Development Minister Lütfi Elvan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Berat Albayrak, Finance Minister Naci Ağbal, Forest and Water Management Minister Veysel Eroğlu and Transportation, Maritime and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan.
