In a decisive move to eliminate the effect of the failed coup attempt by the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ) on foreign investors, 60 exporters' unions operating under the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) will send a letter of assurance to 150,000 customers that will say there are no problems in production in Turkey.
TİM has taken a firm stance in response to the FETÖ's failed coup attempt to avoid any damage to the economy. A letter has been prepared to eliminate all questions foreign investors might have regarding the Turkish economy. A letter titled "Announcement to all of our commercial partners," was initially written for the apparel sector. Sixty exporters' unions will later send the same letter to customers, meaning that the letter will be sent to 150,000 foreign investors.
The letter will corroborate evidence of the strength of democracy in Turkey and the solidity of the Turkish economy will be explained to Turkish exporters' commercial partners. Exporters' unions are also planning to place an ad in key international newspapers regarding the strength of Turkey's democracy. In addition, TİM will hold a meeting with the presidents and members of 60 exporters' unions on July 21 at 2 p.m. TİM President Mehmet Büyükekşi said: "We will call the representatives of foreign newspapers as well. Our aim is to send a message to domestic and international markets. We will explain our international road map." Istanbul Apparel Exporters' Association (IHKIB) President Hikmet Tanrıverdi said: "We will initially send the letter to apparel giants. However, all the exporters unions can use this letter." Pointing out that the letter was initially prepared for the apparel sector, Tanrıverdi said: "We told customers that our companies have continued daily operations without delay in every field from production to export." The letter will be sent to customers in English.
