Erdoğan calls global investors to Turkey, reassuring unity and solidarity around democracy

President Erdoğan met with prominent U.S. business people and politicians to tell them about Turkey's investment environment backed by democracy. Aside from relations with Armenia and the EU, he also stressed issues on the health and finance sectors

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan explained each step of the July 15th coup attempt to American business people and politicians, including Bloomberg CEO Michael Bloomberg, Henry Kissinger and James Rothschild, and invited them to invest in Turkey.

Holding talks with representatives of the Muslim community in the U.S. during his intense program, President Erdoğan met prominent figures in the American business world to tell each second of the coup attempt on July 15 and invite investors to Turkey.


While Erdoğan told what happened during Gülenist Terror Group's (FETÖ) coup attempt on July 15 without skipping any details, he reassured the attendees about Turkish people's unity and solidarity around democracy, suggesting that Turkey did not suffer any losses in terms of its investment value.

Aside from the failed coup attempt, while Turkey's relations with Armenia and the EU, the Syria and Cyprus problems, banking, finance, information and health sectors were also discussed during the meeting, President Erdoğan made suggestions to the Prime Ministry Investment Agency in relation to the follow-up of the issues mentioned by funds making investments in Turkey.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan continues being the center of attention in the U.S. where he held talks under the scope of United Nations General Assembly meetings. At Peninsula Hotel, where he stayed, he welcomed one of top American businesspeople Bloomberg CEO Michael Bloomberg. Following his meeting with the Bloomberg CEO, Erdoğan came together with top American investors and businesspeople at a round table meeting.

President Erdoğan was accompanied by EU Affairs Minister and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Berat Albayrak, AK Party's Deputy Chairman Yasin Aktay, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, Turkey's Ambassador to Washington Serdar Kılıç and Deputy Secretary-General and Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın.


In addition to top figures from the U.S. business world, executives from several important institutions, banks and investment banks were also in attendance along with a significant U.S. politics and foreign policy veteran. Hence, among the attendees of the meeting were CEO for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Citigroup Global Markets James C. Cowles, Coxton Associates partner Jeff Enslin, Lazard CEO Ken Jacobs, Blackstone President Hamilton E. Jones, Warburg Pincus CEO Chip Kaye, Kissinger Associates representative Henry Kissinger, BBVA Executive Board Director Jose Manuel Gonzalez-Paramo, WL Ross and Co. President Wilbur Ross, Representative of the Secretary-General, United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund Carol Boykin, Norwegian chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen and his agent Espen Agdestein, and James Rothschild from Rothschild Family.
