In accordance with the countrywide expansion of Daylight Saving Time, trading hours in Borsa Istanbul have been changed.
The announcement made by Borsa Istanbul Stock Exchange (BIST) indicates that following the Cabinet's decision to implement Daylight Saving Time throughout the whole year, the Borsa Istanbul administration conducted a survey to make the trading hours more compatible with foreign investors.
As a result of the survey, the opening sessions will start at 9:40 a.m. and end at 9:55 a.m. during both full and half days at the Equity Market. While the continuous trading will start at 10 a.m., there will be no changes on the closing time of the continuous trading on half days, but on full days, the closing time of the continuous trading will be extended from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Closing and single price transaction, on the other hand, will take place between 6 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. and close the session at 6:10 p.m.
At the Derivatives Exchange Market, the sessions will start at 9:30 a.m. on full days and end at 6:10 p.m. for single stock futures and at 6:15p.m. for other futures.
At the Debt Securities Market, the sessions will start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. on full days while at Equity Repo Market, the sessions will start at 10 a.m. on full days. New trading hours will be effective from Monday, Nov. 14, 2016.
