Turkey still has cheaper gas than EU, minister says

Turkey's Finance Minister Mehmet Şimsek has taken to Twitter to defend the energy price hike due to hit the country next month.
On Tuesday, the Energy Ministry announced a nine percent rise in the price of electricity and natural gas.
Şimsek tweeted that, despite the rise, Turkey faces lower natural gas prices than any EU country, and the fourth lowest electricity price. He added that the last price rise was two years ago.
