Borusan Mannesman, which is the sole supplier for leading American pipeline operators having production facilities in Turkey, has won a $152 million tender for a natural gas project to be implemented in Pennsylvania. According to a statement delivered to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the company noted that they have won the pipe supply tender for a 321-kilometer-long natural gas pipeline to be constructed in the state of Pennsylvania in the U.S. The spiral welded steel pipes for the project will be manufactured in the company's facilities in Gemlik and shipped to the port of Philadelphia, then will be transported to Pennsylvania. The diameter of the pipes will range between 30 to 42 inches, and production is to start in the last quarter of 2015. The statement further noted that according to the production schedule, production would be completed in 2016. The statement pointed out that this was the third mega project in the last six months with TANAP and U.S.-Texas pipeline project in the large-scale energy pipeline market. "When the total weight of the project is considered, this will be our biggest project so far. Our company is still the only supplier for leading American pipeline operators with local production facilities in Turkey," added the statement.
